This evening we begin our study of 1 Samuel, where God raises up Israel's final judge-prophet and uses him to shepherd the nation out of the turbulent era of the Judges and into a full-fledged monarchy. This transition ultimately paves the way for the coming of Israel's promised Messianic King.
