As the final capstone to His public ministry, before making His triumphal entry on Palm Sunday, Jesus raises His friend Lazarus from the dead, revealing that He is the resurrection and the life. This miracle confirmed that Jesus is the promised Messiah, He declares that all who believe in Him, though they may taste physical death, they will yet live. For He alone holds authority over life and death, and He is the One before whom all will stand on Judgment Day at the final resurrection.
